The tassel can be used not only in macrame projects but also in so many different DIY craft projects. It is a great technique to learn just so you have it ready in your craft tool belt. After all, you never know when you are going to need to make a tassel! I love using the basic tassel technique to create simple key rings or to add something extra to a wall hanging.
Below is a Macrame Video Tutorial on how to create a basic tassel for all your DIY craft projects. Make sure you scroll down to check that out now!
A Basic Tassel, Step-by-Step:
Knot Calm has also created a FREE downloadable PDF guide on all the decorative knots you need to know starting out. This includes step-by-step instructions for a basic tassel as well as the Spiral Knot, Wrap Knot, Macadamia Knot and Josephine Knot. Get your copy of the Decorative Knots Bible now!
TIP: You can make your tassel as thick as you like by wrapping more cords at the start of your work, and you can also adjust the length to suit the project. If you want a smaller tassel, just wrap your string around a smaller item (like a playing card). Happy knotting!
